AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
Sunnyside offers a variety of fee-based Enrichment Programs afterschool to add to your child's education, development and fun-quotient. Enrollment forms will be sent out through our Wednesday Envelope. Please contact program directors for more detailed information and costs.
Note: Children enrolled in the YMCA may also take advantage of these Enrichment Programs for the additional fee. Children enrolled in EXCEL are required to be in the EXCEL program all day and will not be able to attend these Enrichment programs. However, both the YMCA and EXCEL have many Enrichment activities included as part of their programs. Please contact these programs directly for more details.
Little Sunshine Art Club Grades K-1

This fun and engaging class builds art skills, awareness, enthusiasm, individual expression and much more. Within a framework of support young students are encouraged to grow artistically. We work on both short and long range projects that encompass a wide variety of materials and techniques. Meg Sandine has been teaching art for 18 years and has been at Sunnyside for 5 years.

This art class for older students introduces artists to a wide variety of art materials and techniques in a nurturing environment through fun and skill building projects. As we explore basic art skills, students begin to realize their own artistic expression. Meg Sandine has taught art for 18 years and has been at Sunnyside School for 5 years.
Lego Club Grades 1-3

Come and explore creativity and design through Legos. Every week kids will experience an exciting new project - build a spaceship, skyscraper, free play, etc. The kids will be encouraged to create whatever they want based on the theme. Each child will be given the opportunity to do show-and-tell with their creation to the class. Sunnyside's Lego Club was started in 2010 by a very dedicated Mom and team of parents. It continues to be parent-run and is always looking for more parent volunteers.

Sunnyside's Sports, Health & Fitness Class is specifically designed to encourage kids into a lifetime of being physically active and having lots of fun while doing it. Our athletes will learn a new sport every two weeks which includes Basketball, Tennis, Lacrosse, Hockey, Soccer, Volleyball, Golf, Baseball, etc. Our focus is to educate out athletes on anatomy, physiology and nutrition in a fun and interesting way. We want them to be armed with the knowledge they need to live healthy, active lives. Each student receives personalized attention and encouragement while participating in our class activities. All classes are taught ba a Certified Personal Trainer.

Piano with Keyboard Educators offers a complete piano course to all children grades Kindergarten thru 5th grade. Children learn to play the piano one on one and also learn theory. They learn to read music and write music... not just play the piano. It's a wonderful piano course... children have fun and learn piano at the same time.
