Help your student total his or her time spent reading, and return the completed log to your teacher by Wednesday, January 4. _Here is a summary of what you need to know about enrolling in middle school. You can read the attachments for more information or visit www.ppssf.org   You should have received a letter with an enrollment form in the mail. If you did not, there are enrollment forms in the office.
  1. You need to fill out the letter you received in the mail and return it to school before JANUARY 27. There is no advantage to sending it in early, but there may be a problem if you send it in late
  2. You can list up to TEN choices for middle school. Do not list the same school 10 times because it will only count once.
  3. Don't listen to rumors - visit the schools so you know what they are like.
  4. Sunnyside students who list Denman as one of their choices are more likely to be assigned to Denman than students from other elementary schools.
  5. You are NOT automatically assigned to Denman or any other school. You MUST fill out and return the form – even if you have a brother or sister at the school you want to go to.
  6. If you do not want to go to Denman, you do not have to list it as one of your choices. You can still choose another school and you may be assigned to that school if there is space available. But other elementary school students will have priority for enrolling in those other middle schools. We only have priority for enrolling in Denman.
  7. If you do not receive one of your choices, you will be assigned to the school closest to your house that has openings. If you do not list Denman as one of your choices and Denman is full, then you will not be assigned to Denman. You will be assigned to the school that has openings that is closest to your house.
Please contact me or the school if you have any questions.   Happy Holidays! Kari Gray

_This is the last week for the Season of Giving and get teachers and after school programs what they really want (supplies to teach our kids) for the holidays. Please come by the front entrance area and grab an ornament. Don't have time? Check the online list: http://www.sunnysidek5.org/season-of-giving.html

The complete list is found at: http://www.sunnysidek5.org/uploads/6/1/7/6/6176375/2011_season_of_giving_list.pdf

And if you're still not sure - the teacher can tell you what they want most of their wish list. Thanks to everyone that have participated so far.

Cheers,
Peggy and Andi
