8:40am-2:40pm
Please bring your child onto the schoolyard.  The kindergarten classrooms line up on their room numbers, painted on the blacktop in the southwest corner of the school.  The teachers will meet them on the yard and take them into the classrooms. Other classes also line up according to room numbers and will be led into the classrooms by their respective teachers.

After seeing your children off to class, come join fellow Sunnyside Parents and Principal Simard in the Auditorium for coffee, treats, and Kleenex. Members of the PTA will be on hand to provide information about the school and events.

6pm-7pm
Come to the auditorium first – you will find out your child’s classroom/teacher.  Then, free childcare will be provided in the auditorium while parents attend a kindergarten orientation in their child’s classroom.  The teacher will go over a typical day in the classroom, and discuss rules, expectations, materials, and answer questions.  At the end of the evening, the children will get a chance to stop by their classroom and say hi to their teacher.

9am - 10am
Bring your child to the auditorium. Incoming kindergarteners will be split into 3 groups and rotated through the 3 classrooms for fun activities like storytime, creative play and drawing. This gives the K teaching team a chance to meet the students before assigning them to classrooms, and gives the incoming K’s a chance to meet the teachers and experience the classroom space before starting school on Monday.  Parents will wait in the auditorium during the rotation.
